Manufacturing Capabilities
Langer Biomechanics is the premier producer of fully custom made lower extremity appliances. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in the USA and Canada fabricate prescription foot orthoses, custom ankle foot orthoses, custom diabetic shoe inserts and custom orthotic sandals. Each technician goes through a one year rigorous training course. On average our laboratory technicians have 16 years of fabrication experience.
Langer also employs the most cutting-edge production automation technologies, which exhibit sub-millimeter accuracy and ensures that each order is made-to-prescription. The integration of this technology has allowed Langer to engage in “lean manufacturing” and has been crucial in optimizing both efficiency and productivity.
Every device manufactured at Langer is fully custom made over an individual patient model provided by our practitioner clients. Our product lines have been carefully designed by our professional staff and contain time tested orthopedic materials.
History of Langer Biomechanics
Sheldon Langer, DPM and Justin Wernick, DPM began educating their colleagues about the latest advances in lower extremity biomechanics in the late 1960’s. Their goals were simple; help their colleagues achieve better patient outcomes with the new science and the products that flowed from it. From these humble beginnings emerged Langer Biomechanics in 1971 and an entire industry in the years to come.
Today, Langer Biomechanics, Inc. designs, manufactures and distributes a broad range of medical products for the treatment of lower extremity ailments. We sell our products to qualified healthcare practitioners who are involved in the treatment of patients suffering from lower extremity ailments.
Our broad range of orthopedic products, including custom foot and ankle orthotic devices, pre-fabricated foot products, footwear, rehabilitation products, and orthopedic materials are designed to correct, protect, heal and provide comfort for the patient. The core principals established in 1971 of Education, Innovation and Quality remain firmly intact today.
